About Pascal Adant
ผู้กำกับภาพยนตร์ ในกรุงเทพฯ
Born in Belgium into a family of painters, musicians, and photographers, Pascal Adant’s work is rooted in a diverse artistic upbringing. Now based in Bangkok, he integrates this multidisciplinary background into a cinematic practice that spans live action and animation. His films have been selected and awarded at prestigious international competitions, including Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival (receiving the Rail d'Or Award), the Hollywood Film Festival & Awards, the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, The Giffoni Film Festival, and many more, reflecting a consistent engagement with global audiences.

Visual Aesthetic and Technical Versatility
His transition from 2D animation to live-action fiction has shaped a directorial style defined by a strong graphic sensibility. This background allows for a highly aesthetic approach to digital and film cinematography, complemented by a focused dedication to actor direction. Furthermore, his experience as a script doctor and editor provides a practical advantage on set; this technical foresight allows for fluid improvisation and the ability to resolve complex narrative or production hurdles while maintaining the film's structural integrity.

The Medium and Preservation
The use of 16mm and 35mm film is a central element of Pascal Adant's work, valued for both its organic texture and its practical longevity. Beyond the immediate visual results, the choice of analog film addresses the long-term challenges of archival preservation. As a physical medium, film offers a level of durability that digital formats often lack, ensuring that cinema remains accessible and preserved as a tangible work of art for the future.
